TITLE: MY GOD GIVEN LIFE IN JESUS
The Opening I am Arlene Papasin Pito, wife of a Pastor, a mother of two(2) beloved sons, called and set apart for the knowledge of the truth and service of Christ Jesus by the will of God.
What Was I Without
Jesus Christ
Before I was found by the LORD and given the grace of everlasting life, I was so religious. I would go to church three (3) times a week, pray the rosary before bed time because if I don’t , I would have a bad dream as i sleep. During my college days my classmate invited me to join their Bible Study but I turned her down for I believed then that my faith in God was enough and true. The word Bible was never mentioned in our family yet , there was I fighting for my religion and false faith which just led me of my being unaware of my sinfulness and ignorance of the true God.
How did God draw
me to Himself
Until one beautiful day came from Him when my heart felt a longing for the Word of God and for Bible study. I grew up in Manila and was so grateful to God for bringing me to Cagayan de Oro City on January 20,1994 to work there as Research and Development Manager. From there I met our laboratory supplier who without my knowing was a born again Christian herself and a BS Leader. I went to her office and asked her about my desire for Bible Study and she answered happily, “Kami, nagba Bible Study”. She gave me a BS material for me to answer and there I prayed the prayer of faith receiving and believing Jesus Christ as my Lord and Personal Saviour. It was June 1,1995 when I became a child of God in Jesus’ Name.
Why am I Here
After receiving Christ as my Lord and Saviour, I realized that all along It was God’s plan to bring me in Mindanao. He called and chose me for His kingdom purpose, that He will use me for the service and glory of His wondrous Name. By His Spirit, my heart for His word has never ceased.. It is the seed that grows in me and made me commit my life unto Him expressing my gratitude to the Great Saviour who saved me from my sins . Being in the Lord’s vineyard, His truthful word taught me to abide his heavenly vision -- to seek the lost, help them turn to God and make Him known that they may also do the works meet for repentance as His will for us -- to go and make disciples. It’s been thirty (30) years now of my being in the Lord’s service and I will continue to abide His Great Commission until He calls me home. This is the reason why I am here, for He has done all these to me and it is my joy and privilege to serve our great King. As one of my of my life verses says -- Ye have not chosen me but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye ask of the Father in My name He may give it you.
The Closing
Turning to God and His Word assures us of a meaningful and peaceful life. It also leads us to a life that is committed to Jesus Christ living for Him alone. Like my other life verse declares -- And that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them and rose again.
To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.”
